I love it because the animator makes manifest the narrative drive of the track, which has no lyrics on which to otherwise hang a narrative. It's so damn creative.

This post over at Pitchfork could be really good news. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is one of my favorite albums, and it'd be awesome to hear new music by Jeff Mangum. I once saw him in person, I think, during Black Arts Month, or something like that, at a free jazz concert at Emory University. Peter Brotzmann's group was playing, followed by Roscoe Mitchell, George Lewis, and Waddada Leo Smith playing LRG, one of the most abstruse compositions I've ever encountered.

Here's the little pilot thing that Chad put together for the contest FX is running. Apparently he jacked up the file and we're not really submitted to the contest. Oh well. Here it is for posterity anyway, so-so sound and all.
