Where Battlestar Galactica Got Some Lines

Last night, Lacey and I watched the end of Season 2 of Battlestar Galactica. We're now all caught up with the exception of last Friday's seaon premiere.

The final episode of Season 2, Lay Down Your Burdens, Part 2, has one of the coolest season end twists that I've ever seen. And I was pleasantly surprised to hear some familiar lines coming from the mouth of Chief Tyrol, namely some famous words from Mario Savio. Tyrol's speech, in the context of the show seemed a bit over the top (we don't know what he and the Union have been dealing with), but it was still nice to see a classic American political speech of dissent referneced in a show as politically minded as Battlestar.

Here's the speech for those who don't know it:

We must all be watching in parralel. Anika and I wrapped up season 2.5 not quite in time to seque into the new season on Sci Fi. I guess we'll just wait until it's out on DVD so we can watch the whole thing in a week or two.

BG episodes are like gummi bears for me, once I get started, I just keep poppping them in..

Eric.
